Lessons are taught in my home studio (take a look at the studio page to find out why) but I can teach in your own home if required. This may incur and additional cost for travel expenses.
All lessons are tailored to the individual needs of my students and progress at an appropriate rate for each individuals skill development and musical tastes.
Drum Kit
Drum Kit lessons are taught on a Yamaha DTXtreme IV Special electric drum kit, this allows me to control the noise kevels in lessons and provides excellent sound reproduction for videos made during lessons to record student’s progresss.

Percussion lessons can include any or all of Snare Drum, Xylophone, Marimba, Vibraphone, Glockenspiele, Auxiliary and Latin Percussion. I teach using Adams and Premier Tuned Percussion, Zildjian cymbals and Grover, Remo and LP auxiliary percussion.

Technique (including Leigh Howard Stevens 4 mallet technique for advanced students)
Reading Treble and Bass Clef notation
Scales and Arpeggios
Rudiments
Exam/Recital preparation
General Musicianship
Exams
Students can be entered for graded exams on Drum Kit using Rockschool, Trinty or Guildall exams.
For percussion students are entered for ABRSM exams
